It’s that time of year. We all quiet down and look forward to whatever it is we spend our holidays doing. It’s also a time we tend to reflect on what our year was like.
For us it was crazy. We started with Ruff Sleepers, then booked a nation-wide TVC and photography campaign. We’ve had exciting things happen with one of our shorts, Staying the Night.
We kept up with our wonderful clients, collaborated with new ones and further updated how we do event production (we love event video production and finding ways to capture the spirit of the day/s). We’re investing time into developing new products and projects.
We shot a TVC spec for a beer brand we adore, Wayward Brewing Co. We’ve met and worked with extraordinary people this year.
I’ve spent a lot of the year consulting on a script with an incredible team who’ve helped me to grow as a writer and creative — including addressing whether we are indeed creative or in fact receptive. For another time! I featured in a whole bunch of episodes of Season 2 of the Not Chilli Podcast run by my very good friend — and phenomenal location sound recordist for documentary, film, television, advertising and everything between — Piotr Wasilewski.
We were also very happy to see the launch of Antisocial by our awesome friends and colleagues Goodall and Gallagher!
Georgia worked on a range of projects, juggling paperwork, time in studio, day shoots, remote crews our creative and passion projects — as always growing as a Producer. She kicked arse with our rebranding as we spent most of the year absorbed by it all. Oh yes, we also rebranded.
That is hard to do. Sheesh. It was something that strengthened our team spirit. We looked at a mountain and climbed it, and we’ve ended up with something we love and are excited to nurture and grow for many years to come.
We have done a lot this year and it’s crazy to think back and push it all together. To be honest I found myself finding more and more things we’d done that felt a thousand years ago — but somehow just last week at the same time.
Thank you to all our wonderful clients, collaborators, contacts, talents and colleagues. It’s been an incredible 2018 and we are very excited about 2019.
Be safe, have happy holidays and we’ll see you next year.
